Angelina Jolie mastectomy response from Ellen and Dr. McDougall

Hi ,

My introductory comments are going to be short today so that I can get this article into your hands right away.

No doubt you've heard the news about Angelina Jolie and her decision to have a mastectomy surgery as disease preventative. I'm sure that we all agree that this must have been an excruciating decision - yet immediately it brings to mind, what are other options for prevention and treatment?

Ellen Jaffe Jones and Dr. John McDougall both came out with powerful responses within 24 hours. I have reported on both of them on the plant-based fitness blog today.

Ellen has a deep family history of breast cancer and has chosen a pathway different from that of her siblings. Says Ellen:

"If anyone should be terrified of breast cancer, it should be me. My aunt died of it in our home when I was 5. As I say in my video, figuring out the truth about food and how to avoid breast cancer has become the investigative reporting job of my life..."

I know that there are many reading this today who have had to face a decision similar to that of Ms. Jolie. And each time this topic comes to the surface in the news, you come to mind and heart. It is no different today.
