I would have written to you yesterday, but our refrigerator broke and the last 24 hours have been pretty much organized around navigating the appliance stores (in C-19 conditions), and buying ice to help keep our current food stash at least cooler than room temp until our new fridge arrives in a week. Ended up finding a great deal with a nice fridge at 40% off special sale, so all looks good!
I wanted to write to remind you that Sunday, May 31 I will be speaking online for the Mindful Eating Film Festival and you can still register at no charge here.
Here is a brief description of some of the highlights of my talk:

"We are so pleased to introduce such a lively, warm, and inviting speaker - Lani Muelrath - to the MEFF virtual stage! You are invited to her presentation on what mindful eating means in her words, and how we can bring it into our daily lives through a mindfulness meditation-based mindset.

'Have you ever experienced mindless snacking? Been troubled by stress eating? Is there ever a mismatch between what you plan to put on your plate and what ends up there?
Perhaps our turbulent times have inspired the reappearance of a challenging relationship with food, or given rise to one you never had before.
Mindfulness practice gets under the surface of troubling behaviors. Come away with specific tools you can immediately apply so you can experience more freedom and happiness around food.'

We are certainly looking forward to the practical tips she will guide us in, which are also outlined in her book, "The Mindful Vegan." She'll be giving us a recorded meditation freebie as well! This is going to be such a refreshing and grounding presentation followed by a great Q&A conversation, as all our events have had."
Organized by my friends and colleagues Miyoko Schinner, Cammy Schinner, Dave Osborn, and the team at Rancho Compasion farmed animal sanctuary in California, this event was initially planned as a LIVE event in Marin County near San Francisco. Then - well, you know what happened. And rather than abandon the plan, the team took this one
online.
My publisher is giving my readers 50% off my books to celebrate!

It's a turbulent time for our healthy, our country, our times. Let's let this Sunday afternoon event provide a respite for us from all and give us some positive tools for moving forward.
Hope to see you at the Festival!
Thinking of you with love,
Lani
