Exciting news!
As stated in the headline, guess
what?
Tantor Audio has purchased the audio rights to produce the audio version of my newest book, The Mindful Vegan. I am absolutely delighted about this, as you can imagine. The Mindful Vegan book lends itself perfectly to audio, and I have received so many messages asking me if and when the audio version would be made! So
the answer is now....yes.
And guess what? I had to audition to do the recording! After all, the company has no idea what my voice sounds like. Yet they did pick me :-)so now it is just a matter of arranging to get to the studio for a week to record. Unfortunately the Tantor studios can only be found in NY, Connecticut, and VanNuys (LA) - the closest location to me to
me. It will still mean a flight to location and booking housing etc for the week, so I am busy putting that together. But isn't this a fine development? If you know of a good BnB near VanNuys California, do let me know!
Cinnamon Rolls and Alaska: The organizer of Alaska Vegfest wrote to me several months ago inviting me to be a presenter at this year’s event. Alaska
Vegfests are unique in that they invite just three presenters and focus on a special topic. This year’s topic was How to Live a Vibrant, Brain-Healthy Life. Dean Sherzai, MD, and Ayesha Sherzai, MD, are neurologists and co-directors of the Alzheimer’s Prevention Program at Loma Linda University who were already on board for this year's program. I was thrilled and honored when the organizers told me that they wanted me to be the third presenter, bringing the
topics and expertise of The Mindful Vegan book to the program.
While in Alaska, I picked up a new bread recipe from my host that I brought home with me and promptly made cinnamon rolls (photo above). She graciously agreed to my sharing her recipe with you, which you will find here.
Tomorrow I head out for the 5 hour
drive to Mendocino for the Mindfulness and Art of Play Retreat - officially titled Creating Your Best Life - that I am co -hosting with Joan Stanford of the Stanford Inn, the ONLY vegan resort in California! If you are one of the attendees, I can't wait to see you there! We have room for one more should you want a last minute getaway, too.
Better get packing for tomorrow's
long journey - but first, a bike ride on this beautiful northern California Fall day.
Here's hoping your Fall is off to a very, very good start. May your days be filled with ease and happiness.
Love,
