Hi , Focus. We can all use more of it, of that I am certain we can agree. For example...
Have any of these, or something similar to them, ever happened to you? - You find your mind wandering during conversations, sometimes so much that you need to ask the person you are talking to to repeat a question.
- You are on deadline to complete a task, yet the urge to check your email keeps intruding, pulling you from your project.
- While reading, you find yourself at the end of a page without any idea of what you just read. Sometimes repeatedly. For the same
page.

Four simple
tools for finding greater focus. Just so it’s clear, one needn’t have cognitive decline to have these experiences. The problem, more often than not, is the result of our distracted minds that can result in a reduced ability to focus. More Summits on the calendar
This is in addition to Mindfulness in May program I wrote to you about in yesterday's newsflash. This means multiple opportunities for mindfulness meditation support straight ahead on the
calendar!
Hope you'll join me on these, and I look forward to your thoughts on the four simple steps for greater focus, Lani
P.S. Upcoming summits I've shared before, as an easy reminder and point of reference:

We all know that there is no magic pill that can take away the struggles of the human experience. Anxiety is real, life is uncertain, and we are all afraid of something, some days. But meditation practice allows us see differently —
beyond fear, beyond the bounds of normal, conditioned perception.
This series is about how to train our minds to release old patterns so we can get up each day with courage and faith and a sense of possibility.
Maya Angelou taught us:
"Courage is the most important of the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage."
Each speaker brings their own perspective on how to release anxiety and cultivate courage. Some will speak on rich topics like non-duality, dependent origination, groundlessness, loving kindness, neuroplasticity, and shadow
work... We will all be talking about how to apply these dharma teachings and practices to real life. |
