From the family feast to the office party with greater ease (video!)

Published: Wed, 12/20/17

Hi ,

How do you stay centered while in the midst of holiday parties and family gatherings?

These places can be highly charged with a wild assortment of foods and opinions at any time of year, let alone the holidays.

Often the table or buffet is centered around an animal – and it’s not alive.  This is highly stressful to the vegan or vegetarian, often unbeknownst to the omnivores in the crowd.

This week's presentation - "From the Family Feast to the Office Party: Greater Ease With It All (video!)"  - has been recorded and is now up for you in replay here.

During this week's Mindful Vegan Moment discover how to navigate challenging situations and what you can do to be more at ease.  For in depth exploration of today’s topic, see Day Nineteen of The Mindful Vegan book:  "Higher Ground and Mindfully Navigating Conversations."

The Meat Paradox

As disclosed in the video, learning about The Meat Paradox can help you to approach these situations and conversations with a new resiliency and kindness that will bring greater influence to your presence as vegan, vegetarian, or plant-based eater at these events. Find out how the mindfulness practices as taught in The Mindful Vegan book translate directly to useful tools in real life situations.

It is my wish that a new perspective on these situations, coupled with application of specific tools of mindfulness, bring a greater joy and ease to your holidays and to social events any time of the year.

NEW cookbook! My friends Victoria Moran and JL Fields have a new cookbook out, just released yesterday.  Titled The Main Street Vegan Academy Cookbook, the book is full of recipes contributed by graduates of The Main Street Vegan Academy as well as by JL Fields herself, who has just been recognized as for her Air Fryer cookbook as Cookbook of the Year by VegNews Magazine.  I was honored to be asked to write a cover quote for The Main Street Vegan Academy Cookbook and received an advance copy of the manuscript several months ago.  Now I have a  hard copy in my hands and she's gorgeous!  This book is also full of tips and shortcuts for living veg easier than ever.

To a kinder, gentler holiday season for all,

Love, Lani

P.S.  Please share with me, either on today's blog comments or by responding to this email, what topics or areas you would like to explore in upcoming Mindful Vegan Moments!
