Just in case you missed this from a few days ago.
Thank you to Andrea Ivins for the wonderful graphics she has been making to celebrate the release of The Mindful Vegan. Here she captures a favorite passage on page 192 of the book:

Hi ,
First, a deep and heartfelt thanks to all who have written in concern and care about those of us in Northern California with
so many communities ablaze. The nearest fires to our home have been about ten miles away, and though we live in the heart of fire country, this year so far we have been lucky. Others have not been as fortunate - over 1500 homes leveled in the blaze in Santa Rosa, including the home of Dr. John McDougall, his daughter's family's home, and the home of a longtime assistant. The good news is all are safe - but all else has been lost. Thank you so much for your kind wishes and
thoughts.
A new, extraordinary video interview with yours truly has just been published by the illustrious Jeanne Schumacher on her YouTube Channel here. I am very, very impressed with how Jeanne produced this, included some text to highlight some key concepts of our conversation about The Mindful Vegan. She knows how to ask probing questions that I think you will find very interesting. If you get a chance to watch, and enjoy the interview, please leave Jeanne and thumbs up on the
page and if inspired, leave a comment. Jeanne obviously put so much into this and has a long list of interesting interviews featured including with Jane Esselstyn, Dr. Robert Ostfield, MD, Milan Ross, Dr. John McDougall...for starters.
Quick Reminder:
Book signing and reading at Book Passage Corte Madera this Saturday, October 14! (see graphic below). This prestigious venue is the apple of any author's eye, this one included. If you are in or around Marin County, California - or know anyone there - please come, bring your
friends!
Miyoko's Kitchen is co-sponsoring the event so we'll be serving vegan cheese samples after the presentation! No need to sign up, but it would be great if you could let me know if you plan to come HERE and how
many in your party - it will help us plan how much cheese to bring!
Hope to see you soon!
Here's to a kinder,
more spacious world for all.
Love, Lani
P.S. Thank you so much to everyone who has posted a review of The Mindful Vegan on Amazon. Early reviews are favored by Amazon, and always
helps any title get in front of more viewers. It's a simple, easy way to advance the message. And reviews needn't be long or elaborate, just from the heart!
P.P.S. In case you missed it, The Plant Yourself Podcast with Howard Jacobson and yours truly as guest on the PYP website has had a tremendous response. As per Howard's program notes, in our conversation about The Mindful Vegan we covered, among other things: - our habit of reactivity and automatic thought and impulse
- what mindfulness is (and isn't – much to Howard's relief)
- how many of us use food as a refuge against disquieting state
- “we don't change because of shame or blame”
- the problem with self-labeling as a food or sugar addict
- the secret to weight management: overeating is triggered by undereating
