Pie crusts
have never been my forte. Even after all these years, I muddle through them, pinch the ruffled edges here and there and hope for the best. See photo right.
Yet I figure it's half the charm of a homemade pie, yes?
Today we're traveling for Thanksgiving celebrations with a gathering at my friend
Miyoko's home and farm animal sanctuary. It's time to meet some of the new beasts at her
Rancho Compasion - now up to several pigs, goats, two cows, chickens, and some geese.
And time to celebrate the season with a wonderful vegan feast. As I've been vegetarian/vegan most of my life, it's been a long
time since Thanksgiving has been about a turkey on the table - but it has been about great food and I anticipate enjoying some of that today!
We're bringing my Chocolate Mousse Pie, a new recipe from my upcoming book that you see pictured here. The surface art just kind of created itself.
Before we hit the road, I wanted to take a few minutes to send thanks to you for your ongoing friendship
and support on this healthy, happy journey. And thank you for all you do to promote a compassionate lifestyle, including those who are trying even a little bit.
All blessings to you and yours on this great American holiday! Drive safe. Savor some time walking - in nature if you can. And enjoy what you
eat!
Love,
Lani
