Hi ,

Today's newsnote I need to get on its way to you pronto - that's because it is now just hours away from my opportunity to talk all about The Plant-Based Journey on NPR.

And it doesn't matter where you are, even though the program is set to air at 10:00 a.m. PST, Friday, October 16. You can also listen to the show LIVE via internet link here:

You'll see the link right beneath the header banner.

I'll be the lucky guest of Nancy Weigman who anchors one of the most popular NPR radio shows in California on Norhstates Public Radio, NSPR.

Even if you missed the show...

Not to worry as before long this will be available for download on the station website. I'll let you know!

Barnes and Noble Book Signing breaks local records!

Last Sunday's book signing party at Barnes and Noble, Chico, was a smashing success.  Staff told me they had never had a turnout like this before - and even though we told them we planned a robust response (and that we needed tables for FOOD as well), I guess they just didn't believe us because when Greg and I arrived, there was only one table set up at the edge of the Customer Service center between two bookshelves.

Not to worry!  Early arrivals pitched in, staff dove into the storage room and within minutes we had all available chairs in place and tables for both copies of Journey and the food samples from recipes from the book.  We still had standing room only, but oh well, we sit too much anyway!

Special "I couldn't have done it without you" thanks to Amy Shockley and Nancy Norby Matthews who brought pots of Game Changer Chili, Country Comfort Cornbread, and Pumpkin Muffins from The Plant-Based Journey recipes.  I brought a double batch of Double Chocolate Cherry Truffles and needless to say everyone left well fed and happy.  See the snapshot below.

This review just in on Amazon:

"I have read many books on healthy eating, both plant-based vegan and otherwise, but this is the first that has both inspired me to make changes and showed me how to do it easily. It is a masterpiece, and I’m thrilled that I have it!

Being a long-time vegan, it has been a struggle for me to make the leap from “junk food vegan” to “healthy vegan.” As I was reading this book, I found myself wanting to improve the quality of my diet. I started becoming drawn to healthier choices and away from richer, heavier ones. After explaining the why of eating this way, Lani shows you exactly how to set yourself up for success."
