Hi ,
August has started out to be a hot month around here - and I'm not just talking about the temperature.
First, big news in the medical community!
Poised to open its
doors to the public any day now is the Barnard Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
While this may not be a convenient location for you (I'm in the same boat, being on the opposite coast in California) this center is the first of its kind nationally. Founded on the principle that many diseases are born of lifestyle, Dr. Barnard's clinic will be one of the first of its kind to combat disease through a plant-based
diet.
Let's hope this starts a trend! More about the clinic
here.
Second, The Plant-Based Journey...
...has started the month in the lovely position once again of #1 Hot New Release in Vegetarian category on Amazon - and #2 in Vegetarian Cooking. And she isn't even officially 'released' yet!
Book pre-orders have been phenomenal, thanks to you and to the popularity of not only the plant-based topic, but this particular approach to the topic - the challenges of change and the nuances of creating new
lifestyle choices.
As a matter of fact, I've just been asked by Wayne State University Medical School...
...in Detroit to come speak to their medical students about how to better help people make successful transition to a plant-based lifestyle. Isn't this exciting news?
Next, VegNews Magazine...
...is relaunching publication this month! A favorite periodical, VegNews is better than ever and if you aren't already a subscriber, there's still a mountain of information on the
VegNews website here.
Getting unstuck - and Peggy's poundage
problem
Peggy called me for help, deeply discouraged because her weight loss efforts had stalled.
She felt at a loss as to how to get moving again toward the weight loss she wanted and needed.
She was also quite frustrated by the pattern she had developed of overeating in the evening.
When it came to progressing on her plant-based journey, Peggy clearly felt
stuck.
Peggy’s not alone
Have you been moving forward with your plant-based plan – perhaps, like Peggy, to help you lose weight – only to find yourself, also like Peggy, stuck along the way?
Not surprisingly, this is one situation where many people reach out to me for help.
In the process of making the switch to plant-based living, they may have started to incorporate more plant-based meals. They have a pretty
clear idea what to eat.
Yet connecting these with day-to-day living for weight loss success may have stalled, leaving them with that stuck-in-cement feeling.
Getting unstuck can simply be a matter of implementing specific 'musts'.
So happy to be on this journey with you!
With love and appreciation,
Lani
