And that's the case with today's "Ask Lani" Outtakes featuring recent questions from readers on my blog.  Too many to reprint them all, so I've pulled a very small sample to feature in today's FitDream Ezine with links to my answers.  You'll find this in Highlights below.

Hope your March is progressing splendidly.  California is beautiful this week;  what extraordinary weather we had on our SF trip last weekend! 
 
Officially, we were there to visit a dear relative recovering from surgery, get in between visits we hiked about 6 miles around the city, starting with scaling the steps to Coit Tower to visit the parrots that live in the trees there, past the sea lions luxuriating in the sun at Pier 39 (picture right), on to the Wharf and Fort Mason (picture left) for a picnic lunch from the famous Greens Restaurant.  We even got to take in a performance at Beach Blanket Babylon, a San Francisco classic. 
 
Enjoy these last few days of winter....Spring is on the way!

So, how do you determine the fine balance between eating enough to keep your body from thinking there isn't enough food and storing for later and getting the calorie deficit you need to lose weight?

I had a question about Interval Training. I already have "muscley" legs to begin with andI don't want to gain any more muscle in my legs, I just want to lose fat. What should I do?

HI Lani,

Can T-Tapp be used for this [EPOC]?  I put my all into my Tapping sessions and am amazed that I can still find more to focus on. Lately it is hard to make through Basic plus because I am tightening and lifting, etc. more consciously and boy! Is my heart rate up and the sweat pouring. Since I've been at this many years and have the NK awareness I was hoping this would be acceptable for short high intensity workouts. BTW, I would love to have you critique a video for me sometime.

7 Steps To Clear Your Blocks

In this simple seven step process, you increase your awareness, explore, and discover your inner answers.
 
When you feel a block in your body or life, if you can see yourself as an explorer, you can often not only uncover the root of the block but also find your way through the block.
 
1.  Become an explorer. To effectively move through your blocks, you must first adopt an explorer mindset so you can discover what the block is about and what it needs to soften or be removed.  Your mindset is key.  Be curious with an open mind and a loving heart.  Let go of judgment and simply see what is there
 
2.  Start where you are at. Forget about yesterday or tomorrow and simply look at where you are in each moment.  To do this, I recommend connecting to yourself through your breath.  Simply breath long and deep through your nose and open up to the exploring what your thoughts, feelings and emotions are in that moment.
 
3.  Be a neutral observer. View what you are experiencing via your breath connection as if you were standing above or outside of the experience.  Let go of the need, in this moment, to do anything or change anything with what you're observing.  Simply connect to what you are seeing & feeling and take it all in.
 
4.  Accept where you are at. Sometimes in observing, you find yourself in a place of discomfort.  Your impulse might be to turn away, to deny, or to escape what is uncomfortable.  But until you can accept what you are feeling and allow it for that moment, you cannot begin to shift it.
 
5.  Embrace where you are at. This doesn't mean you have to love where you are at or to stay attached it.  However, at once time most of your patterns were there for a reason, to serve you in some fashion.  You may have now grown beyond a pattern and be ready to let go.  An important part of letting go is to acknowledge what a good job that pattern did for you, on some level.  Just like a little child, embrace the old pattern or block, thank it, honor the job well done.
 
6.  Breathe and release. Now that you are aware of the essence and elements within the block and you have accepted and embraced the pattern, you are ready to move on.  Continue to breathe into the block, asking if there is anything else that is needed in order to release.  Let go of your mental process and listen for your inner voice.  As you breathe in, invite in new energy.  As you exhale out, release the old skin that is ready to be shed.  Continue this process as long as you want or need.
 
7.  Re-check in with where you are now.Go back to being an explorer with your open mind and loving heart.  What are feeling in your body, mind and spirit? Did something else show up to explore?  Did you receive insight or an answer?  Are you inspired to take action from your internal wisdom?
 
Continue to repeat the steps if you want to explore deeper levels or explore other blocks.
